A quick reminder that the York Mills CI info night is taking place today at 6pm. This is for both the regular and French Immersion program, and is a great opportunity to see the school for yourself and learn more about their programs.

The full schedule of info nights can be found here.

I also post weekly reminders of secondary info nights via Remind – instructions to join are linked below:

Transition to middle school: new section on blog

As we go through the process of transitioning to a middle school structure beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, we will be sharing information with our families and community. There are a number of meetings and discussions taking place. Parent reps have shared information with our Family of Schools rep, and the information has been shared and discussed with the principals of the transitioning schools. Please rest assured that parent voices have been heard and comments/concerns have been taken into account.

We will continue to post any updates as we receive them. Please check back here, and use the left-hand menu to see all relevant posts (category: Junior High to Middle School).

POLL: grade 8 and 9 end of year activities

With the change from a junior high to middle school occurring as of September 2018, we will be having both the grade 8 and grade 9 students all leaving St. Andrew’s JHS at the end of June. In preparation for year-end events, we have prepared a survey to gather information from both parents/guardians and students. The survey is located online and takes only a few minutes to fill out.

Students have been provided time during school hours to fill out their survey, and will all have had the opportunity to share their input by the end of the week.

We ask that parents/guardians of grade 8 and/or grade 9 students please fill out the form, one set of responses per household. Please complete the survey by NOON of Tuesday, October 17th, 2017; after this time, the survey will be closed. The survey can be found online at:

REMIND messaging

Remind is the way that I send information and notices out to students and their families; info can be received over text message, app notifications, or email. It allows me to send more detailed information directly to the people who need it most! Personal information is all kept private. Please see the handout that your child has, or review the attached documents.

Please note that app use requires data or wifi connection, and standard rates apply for text messaging.
