After Gr. 8 night (Oct. 12, 6:30p) and Remind

Grade 8 students received a flyer today about the After Gr. 8 info night and Remind.

After Grade 8 night

Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to attend the After 8 night together, to learn more about transitions to High School, Optional Attendance, Specialized Programs, Credits and Course Types, and more.

Thursday, October 12, 2017
6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the SAJH Cafetorium

In case you are unable to attend, I will post slides from my presentation afterwards.

REMIND messaging

Remind is the way that I send information and notices out to students and their families; info can be received over text message, app notifications, or email. It allows me to send more detailed information directly to the people who need it most! Personal information is all kept private. Please see the handout that your child has, or review the attached documents.

Please note that app use requires data or wifi connection, and standard rates apply for text messaging.

York Mills CI: timetables

A few grade 9 students have a timetable conflict for next year at York Mills CI. Counselors will be contacting students directly via their home phone number to resolve the conflict. If students don’t hear from YMCI, there is no conflict with their timetable.  Tentative timetables will be made available once all conflicts have been resolved.

Also, students who successfully complete credits over the summer will need to make an appointment with the YMCI guidance department, in order to update their grade 10 timetable. YMCI Guidance will re-open to accept appointments starting August 31st, 2015. Please call ahead to check if counselors are available, 416-395-3340 then option 3.

York Mills CI – optional attendance and course selection update

Update from York Mills CI:

Students that have applied via Optional Attendance should enter courses on myBlueprint as well as submit the paper course selection form they received with their acceptance letter, so that we have parent/guardian signature approval and paper confirmation.

Note that online submission AND forms are due to Ms. Wong by this Friday, Feb. 20th. Please hand in via the office.
