Message to Parents RE: Community Concerns

We want to inform our parents/guardians that we continue to remind students to place garbage in the trash bins when off school property at lunch. We value our community and respect our environment. A few of our local business owners recently let us know that students have used their facilities and outdoor tables, without purchasing products. Some of our students have left their garbage in and around these establishments. Local businesses play a critical role in our area and we want to continue to emphasize the importance of respecting our community.

We thank our parents/guardians for respecting the community’s wishes and encourage parents/guardians to have a conversation about this at home with their child(ren).

Do you know any students who are balancing a demanding athletic schedule with their academic pursuits?

Do they perform at the provincial or national level in their sport?

St. Andrew’s JHS offers a High Performing Athletes program for grades 6 to 8. The HPA program is an academic program designed to accommodate athletes with heavy training schedules.

Transition to middle school: new section on blog

As we go through the process of transitioning to a middle school structure beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, we will be sharing information with our families and community. There are a number of meetings and discussions taking place. Parent reps have shared information with our Family of Schools rep, and the information has been shared and discussed with the principals of the transitioning schools. Please rest assured that parent voices have been heard and comments/concerns have been taken into account.

We will continue to post any updates as we receive them. Please check back here, and use the left-hand menu to see all relevant posts (category: Junior High to Middle School).
