As Toronto continues to experience extremely high temperatures and humidity, we are doing our very best to keep all students and staff as comfortable as possible.
Our school, like many in the TDSB, was built without the capability for air conditioning throughout the building. In some rooms, we do have window units that service individual classrooms, while others have large ceiling fans to provide air movement. The cost to install complete building air conditioning at all schools that don’t currently have it would reach into the hundreds of millions of dollars – not to mention the added maintenance, replacement and operational costs associated with the installation of AC in all schools.
If there are students that have a particular susceptibility to heat or have medical concerns, please notify me immediately and we will do our best to accommodate during warmer days.
As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
