New late policy and consequences

Over the past two months there has been a significant increase in the number of lates and therefore we have created a new policy with appropriate consequences. All grade 7-8 students were given this letter to take home today and this has been discussed in all homerooms the past two days and is also posted on the bulletin board outside the main office.

How the doctor’s appointments will be considered and other matters? Do we need to provide an additional parent note when a child is late?

    • Ms. Wong Says:

Any time that a student is being signed in, a note should be provided explaining the reason for the late arrival (i.e. doctor’s appointment, etc). A note stating “My child is late” does not explain why the student is signing in late and would not excuse them.
